AcSB Draft Strategic Plan Roundtables -
September 11, 2015

In May 2015, the Accounting Standards Board (AcSB) issued an invitation to
comment on its 2016-2021 Draft Strategic Plan, "Accounting Standards in
Canada: At the Leading Edge of Financial Reporting." The AcSB is
holding in-person roundtable discussions to hear stakeholders' viewed on
Ottawa CPA Community REDBLACKS night - August 7, 2015
[27 June 2015] Come out on Friday
August 7th at 6:00pm
to support the Ottawa REDBLACKS with the Ottawa CPA community! Get in
some networking and watch the Ottawa REDBLACKS take on the Montreal Alouettes. Tickets are
$40 each for CPA members (and $50 for non-members) and includes: 1)
premium cushion seats and "in the action" experience; 2) All-you-can-eat
food and non-alcoholic drinks, and 3) CPA Networking before the game in a

CPA Ontario Golf Tournament
[14 May 2015]
CPA Ontario is hosting a golf tournament in Ottawa on June 26, 2015 at
the Metcalfe Golf and Country Club.
This event will present an opportunity to network with fellow CPA’s and
enjoy a best ball round of 18 hole golf – followed of course by prizes
and dinner. The cost is $90 per person or $360 per team.

Anxiety Disorder Association of Ontario (ADAO), the Ottawa Safety
Council (OSC) and iSisters are seeking volunteer board members.
CPA Canada signs Memorandum of Understanding with IIA Canada
[3 April 2015]
CPA Canada recently signed Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with IIA Canada.
The purpose of this MOU is to create a formal basis for cooperation and
collaboration between CPA Canada and the IIA Canada for the advancement of good
governance, risk management, and control through the mutual sharing of knowledge,
experience, and best practice.
Annual Curling Bonspiel - March 14, 2015
[17 February 2015] Form your teams and join us at the annual
Ottawa CPA Association Curling Bonspiel. The event will take place on Saturday,
March 14th, 2015
at the Rideau Curling Club (715 Cooper Street, Ottawa).
UFE Luncheon - December 11, 2014
[31 January 2015] The Ottawa CPA Association hosted its annual luncheon to
celebrate the successful 2014 UFE writers on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Delta Ottawa City Centre. The Association would like to thank

their experience in leading or benefiting from the internal audit function within public and private sector

UFE Luncheon - December 11, 2014
[6 November 2014] The Ottawa CPA Association will host its annual luncheon to
celebrate the successful 2014 UFE writers on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at the Delta Ottawa City Centre.
Annual Curling Bonspiel - February 15, 2014
[1 March 2014] We saw fierce competition
for the Laughlin Cup at the annual Ottawa CPA Association Curling Bonspiel held at the
Rideau Curling Club. It all came down to the
last round where the Deloitte team (Francis Séguin,
Andrew Hamilton, Ailsa Leitch and
Thomas Kikelj) took the championship title. Congratulations to them and
to all the other teams that joined us for a fun day on the ice!
Association promotes the CPA profession and serves as a focal point for
social and recreational activities for its members. For an annual fee of $25,
members receive invitations to all Association events and special member prices to
selected events. Perhaps more importantly, however, Association
revenues are used to actively promote the profession at the
University and High School level and to support several community
